All meetings and Scouting activities are cancelled during the school closure

Posted on Mar 17 2020 - 11:13am

Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well during this current health event. We will be cancelling all meetings and scouting activities during this school closure. We will notify everyone if there are any changes and updates.

Mrs. Papa has some information about merit badges which can be worked on from home.

Attached is a link to an interesting article that another scouter passed onto me about merit badges that could be worked on at home.  https://scoutsmarts.com/interesting-merit-badges-to-earn/

While I know the scouts may not have the blue cards or a counselor lined up, they could print out the workbooks and work on those of interest.  Here is the link for all the merit badges.  Scouts should find the badge, scroll to the bottom of the requirements to find the printable workbook.   https://boyscouttrail.com/boy-scouts/bsa-merit-badges.asp

Mr. Olsen has extended some advice about how to be a helpful scout in our community during this time.  "Let’s not forget our neighbors.  There are still ways that we can help and not get infected.  If you have neighbors that may be in need, check in with them an see it they have a need.  A phone call may reveal the need for groceries, cleaning products, etc."
Please remember, scouts should always clear any activities with their parents first.  Safety should always take precedence.

We are a scouting family, please reach out at anytime if you are in need of any help.
Be safe during this time.

Mr. Pejril
