Klondike Derby Preparation Information |

Some dates for some
of you to add to your calendar, about building Klondike Derby sleds. The
Derby is at the end of January, and we need to get our patrol sleds built
and ready for action!
The troop has two
sleds that are either fully or partially built, and we need to build a new
sled for the third patrol to use. At the December troop leaders council
meeting, the patrol leaders decided to split the three sleds up this way:
Mosquitoes (Will
Mack's patrol): You're building the new sled on the afternoon of January
10, 2010 (that's a Sunday). Mr. Barth has volunteered to lead you in that
effort. His email address is
barthra@utrc.utc.com, and his phone number is 648-9723. Grant Spears,
Tyler Lauretti, Thad Moses, Alex Biron, Corwin Miller, James Miranda,
Surya Ramasamy, and Stephen Sackett (and Steven Barth too!) - you should
let Mr. Barth know that you will join him that day (or not! - that's just
as important). He'll have plans and materials ready - your job will be to
follow the instructions and get it ready to use.
Dark Knights (Kevin
Jones' patrol): You're re-building the sled that's at Mr. Leslie's
house. Same day - January 10, 2010. This sled is in parts - your job is
to put them back together. Chris Guay, Isaac Rodrigues, Will Moran, CJ
Sidenstricker, Teddy Tavernier, Scott Stonoha, Michael Fialkoff, Ryan
Rosenbaum, Ben Liebman, and of course Kevin Jones - please reply to this
message to let me know that you can make it that day (or not!).
Cobras (Ryan
Young's patrol): You'll be using the sled that's currently at Mr. Mount's
house. That sled is fully built and in his back yard, so there's not much
really for your patrol to do with it. That means no need for you to do
any building at this time.
ALL PATROLS: If I
left your name off and you're in one of the "building" patrols, I'm
sorry! - but that doesn't let you out of helping your patrol out. Make
sure you mark your calendar to be there with your patrol. ALSO - patrol
leaders - you NEED a flag for your patrol ON THE SLED at the derby. That
means, if you're not having a patrol meeting to build the sled, you should
have one to design and build your patrol flag. I suggest the week after
Christmas as a really good time to try to get your patrol together - but
I'll leave the time up to you...
